Ingredients

Servings4

Yields 1 12-inch pizza

  • (1 lb) pizza dough
  • (1/2 cups) ricotta cheese
  • (1/2 cups) mozzarella cheese, shredded
  • (1/4 cups) parmesan cheese, grated
  • (2 cloves) garlic, minced
  • (1 tbsp) olive oil
  • (1/2 tsp) salt
  • (1/2 tsp) black pepper
  • (1/4 tsp) red pepper flakes (optional)
  • (1/4 cups) fresh basil, chopped (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. 1

    Preheat the oven to 475°F (245 °C).

  2. 2

On a floured surface, stretch or roll out the 1 lb pizza dough into a 12-inch round.

  3. 3

Transfer the dough to a baking sheet or pizza stone.

  4. 4

In a bowl, mix together 1/2 cup ricotta cheese, 1/2 cup mozzarella cheese, 1/4 cup parmesan cheese, 2 cloves minced garlic, 1/2 tsp salt, and 1/2 tsp black pepper until well combined.

  5. 5

Spread the cheese mixture evenly over the pizza dough, leaving a small border around the edges.

  6. 6

Top the dough with sauce and mozzarella. Add optional toppings if desired, then bake until golden and bubbling.

  7. 7

If desired, sprinkle 1/4 tsp red pepper flakes over the top for a bit of heat.

  8. 8

Bake the pizza in the preheated oven for 12-15 minutes or until the crust is golden and the cheese is bubbly.

  9. 9

Remove the pizza from the oven and let it cool for a few minutes. Garnish with 1/4 cup fresh basil before slicing.
