Ingredients
Yields 4 servings
- (6) large eggs
- (2 cups) milk
- (1/2 tsp) black pepper
- (1/2 tsp) salt
- (1/4 tsp) garlic powder
- (1 packet / 0.25 oz) active dry yeast
- (4 cups) cubed crusty bread
- (2 cups) fresh spinach, chopped
- (1 cup) feta cheese, crumbled
- (1/2 cups) shredded mozzarella cheese
- (1 tbsp) olive oil
Instructions
- 1
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175 °C).
- 2
In a large mixing bowl, whisk together (6) eggs, (2 cups) milk, (1 packet / 0.25 oz) black pepper, (1 packet / 0.25 oz) salt, (1 packet / 0.25 oz) garlic powder, and (1 packet / 0.25 oz) active dry yeast until well combined.
- 3
Add (4 cups) cubed crusty bread to the egg mixture and stir to coat the bread evenly. Let it sit for about 10 minutes to absorb the liquid.
- 4
In a skillet, heat (1 tbsp) olive oil over medium heat. Add (2 cups) chopped fresh spinach and sauté for 2-3 minutes until wilted. Remove from heat.
- 5
Fold the sautéed spinach, (1 cup) crumbled feta cheese, and (1/2 cup) shredded mozzarella cheese into the bread mixture, mixing gently to combine.
- 6
Transfer the mixture to a greased 9x13-inch baking dish, spreading it out evenly.
- 7
Bake in the preheated oven for 35-40 minutes or until the strata is golden brown and set in the center.
- 8
Remove from the oven and let it cool for a few minutes before slicing. Serve warm.
