Ingredients

- (1 tablespoon) olive oil
- (1) large onion, sliced
- (4 cloves) garlic, minced
- (1 cup) beef broth
- (1/4 cups) soy sauce
- (1/4 cups) brown sugar
- (2 tablespoons) Worcestershire sauce
- (1 teaspoon) smoked paprika
- (1 teaspoon) black pepper
- (1 teaspoon) salt
- (1/2 teaspoons) cayenne pepper
- (2) carrots, chopped
- (2) stalks celery, chopped

Heat 1 tablespoon olive oil in a skillet over medium-high heat.

Season 2 lbs beef brisket with 1 teaspoon salt and 1 teaspoon black pepper.

Sear the brisket in the skillet for 3-4 minutes on each side until browned.

Transfer the brisket to the slow cooker.

In the same skillet, add 1 large onion (sliced) and 4 cloves garlic (minced). Cook for 2-3 minutes until softened.

Add 1 cup beef broth, 1/4 cup soy sauce, 1/4 cup brown sugar, 2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce, 1 teaspoon smoked paprika, and 1/2 teaspoon cayenne pepper to the skillet. Stir to combine.

Pour the mixture over the brisket in the slow cooker.

Add 2 carrots (chopped) and 2 stalks celery (chopped) to the slow cooker around the brisket.

Cover and cook on low for 6-8 hours or high for 4-5 hours until the brisket is tender.
