Simple Baked Lemon Butter Cod with Asparagus

- (4) cod fillets
- (2 lb) asparagus, trimmed
- (6 tbsp) unsalted butter, melted
- (2) lemon, juiced and zested
- (6 cloves) garlic, minced
- (1 tsp) salt
- (1 tsp) black pepper
- (2 tbsp) fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)

Preheat your oven to 400°F (200 °C).

In a small bowl, combine the (6 tbsp) melted unsalted butter, (2) lemon juiced and zested, (6 cloves) minced garlic, (1 tsp) salt, (1 tsp) black pepper, and to create your lemon butter sauce.

On a baking sheet, arrange the (2 lb) trimmed asparagus in a single layer and drizzle with half of the lemon butter sauce. Toss to coat evenly.

Place the (4) cod fillets on top of the asparagus and pour the remaining lemon butter sauce over the fish.

Bake in the preheated oven for about 20-25 minutes, or until the cod is flaky and the asparagus is tender yet crisp.
