- (2) ripe avocados
- (8 oz) smoked salmon
- (1 tbsp) lemon juice
- (1/4 tsp) salt
- (1/4 tsp) black pepper
- (1/2 tsp) red pepper flakes (optional)
- (1/4 cups) fresh dill, chopped (for garnish)
- (1/4 cups) capers (for garnish)

Toast 4 slices of whole grain bread until golden brown.

While the bread is toasting, cut 2 ripe avocados in half, remove the pit, and scoop the flesh into a bowl.

Add 1 tbsp lemon juice, 1/4 tsp salt, and 1/4 tsp black pepper to the avocado. Mash until creamy but still chunky.

Spread the mashed avocado evenly over the toasted bread slices.
