Ingredients
Yields 4 servings
- (1 lb) boneless skinless chicken breasts
- (2 cups) broccoli florets
- (1/4 cups) honey
- (1/4 cups) soy sauce
- (2 tbsp) apple cider vinegar
- (3 cloves) garlic, minced
- (2 tbsp) olive oil
- (1 tsp) ground ginger
- (1 tsp) cornstarch
- (2 tbsp) water
- (1/4 tsp) black pepper
- (1 tbsp) sesame seeds (optional)
Instructions
- 1
In a small bowl, whisk together (1/4 cup) honey, (1/4 cup) soy sauce, (2 tbsp) apple cider vinegar, (3 cloves) minced garlic, (1 tsp) ground ginger, and (1/4 tsp) black pepper to create the sauce.
- 2
Cut the (1 lb) chicken breasts into bite-sized pieces and set aside.
- 3
In a large skillet, heat (2 tbsp) olive oil over medium-high heat. Add the chicken pieces and cook for about 5-7 minutes or until golden brown and cooked through, stirring occasionally.
- 4
Once the chicken is cooked, pour the honey garlic sauce over the chicken in the skillet. Stir to coat the chicken evenly and let simmer for about 5 minutes.
- 5
While the chicken is simmering, steam the (2 cups) broccoli florets until bright green and tender, about 4-5 minutes.
- 6
In a small bowl, mix (1 tsp) cornstarch with (2 tbsp) water until smooth. Add this mixture to the skillet with the chicken and sauce to thicken it, cooking for an additional 2 minutes.
- 7
Serve the honey garlic chicken over steamed broccoli, garnished with (1 tbsp) sesame seeds if desired.
