Ingredients

Servings4

Yields 4 servings

  • (4) large eggs
  • (1 cup) milk
  • (1 teaspoon) vanilla extract
  • (1 teaspoon) ground cinnamon
  • (8 slices) of bread
  • (2 tablespoons) butter
  • Maple syrup for serving
  • Powdered sugar for dusting (optional)

Instructions

  1. 1

In a large bowl, whisk together 4 large eggs, 1 cup milk, 1 teaspoon vanilla extract, and 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon until well combined.

  2. 2

Heat a large skillet or griddle over medium heat and add 1 tablespoon of butter, allowing it to melt and coat the surface.

  3. 3

Dip each slice of bread into the egg mixture, ensuring both sides are well coated, then let excess drip off.

  4. 4

Place the soaked bread slices onto the skillet, cooking in batches if necessary, for about 3-4 minutes on each side or until golden brown.

  5. 5

Once cooked, remove the French toast from the skillet and keep warm. Add more butter to the skillet as needed for additional batches.

  6. 6

Serve the French toast warm, drizzled with maple syrup and dusted with powdered sugar if desired.
