Ingredients

Servings4

Yields 4 servings

  • (4) large eggs
  • (1 cup) milk
  • (1 tsp) vanilla extract
  • (1 tbsp) ground cinnamon
  • (1/4 cups) granulated sugar
  • (8 slices) thick-cut bread
  • (2 tbsp) unsalted butter
  • (1 cup) mixed berries (strawberries, blueberries, raspberries)
  • (1/4 cups) maple syrup

Instructions

  1. 1

In a large mixing bowl, whisk together (4) large eggs, (1 cup) milk, (1 tsp) vanilla extract, (1 tbsp) ground cinnamon, and (1/4 cup) granulated sugar until smooth.

  2. 2

Heat a large skillet over medium heat and add (2 tbsp) unsalted butter, letting it melt.

  3. 3

Dip a slice of bread into the egg mixture, ensuring both sides are well-coated, then place it in the skillet. Repeat with more slices as space allows.

  4. 4

Cook each slice for about 3-4 minutes on one side, until golden brown, then flip carefully and cook for another 3-4 minutes on the other side.

  5. 5

Once all slices are cooked, keep them warm in the oven on low heat if needed.

  6. 6

Serve the French toast topped with (1 cup) mixed berries and drizzle with (1/4 cup) maple syrup.
