Ingredients
Yields 4 servings
- (1 lb) beef sirloin, sliced thinly
- (2 cups) broccoli florets
- (1 cup) jasmine rice
- (2 tbsp) soy sauce
- (1 tbsp) oyster sauce
- (1 tbsp) cornstarch
- (1/2 cups) beef broth
- (2 tbsp) vegetable oil
- (2 cloves) garlic, minced
- (1 tsp) ginger, minced
- (1/4 tsp) black pepper
- (1/2 tsp) sesame oil
- (2 tbsp) green onions, chopped, for garnish
Instructions
- 1
Cook the (1 cup) jasmine rice according to package instructions; set aside when done.
- 2
In a bowl, mix the (1 lb) sliced beef with (1 tbsp) cornstarch until well-coated. This helps to tenderize the meat.
- 3
In a large skillet or wok, heat (2 tbsp) vegetable oil over medium-high heat. Add the beef and cook for about 5-7 minutes until browned. Remove the beef from the skillet and set aside.
- 4
In the same skillet, add the (2 cloves) minced garlic and (1 tsp) minced ginger. Sauté for about 30 seconds until fragrant.
- 5
Add the (2 cups) broccoli florets to the skillet and stir-fry for about 3-4 minutes until they are bright green and tender-crisp.
- 6
Return the cooked beef to the skillet. Pour in the (2 tbsp) soy sauce, (1 tbsp) oyster sauce, (1/2 cup) beef broth, and (1/4 tsp) black pepper. Stir well to combine and cook for an additional 2-3 minutes until the sauce thickens slightly.
- 7
Drizzle (1/2 tsp) sesame oil over the stir-fry and toss to combine. Cook for another minute.
- 8
Serve the beef stir-fry over the cooked jasmine rice and garnish with (2 tbsp) chopped green onions.
