Ingredients

Servings4

Yields 4 servings

  • (4) large eggs
  • (1 cup) milk
  • (1 teaspoon) vanilla extract
  • (1 teaspoon) ground cinnamon
  • (8 slices) of bread (preferably brioche or challah)
  • (2 tablespoons) butter
  • (1 cup) mixed fresh berries (strawberries, blueberries, raspberries)
  • Maple syrup (for serving)

Instructions

  1. 1

In a large bowl, whisk together 4 large eggs, 1 cup milk, 1 teaspoon vanilla extract, and 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon until well combined.

  2. 2

Preheat a large skillet or griddle over medium heat and add 2 tablespoons butter, allowing it to melt and coat the surface.

  3. 3

Dip each slice of bread into the egg mixture, ensuring both sides are well coated but not soaked.

  4. 4

Place the coated bread slices onto the skillet or griddle, cooking for about 3-4 minutes on each side until golden brown and cooked through.

  5. 5

While the French toast is cooking, wash and prepare 1 cup of mixed fresh berries by slicing strawberries if needed.

  6. 6

Once the French toast is done, serve it warm topped with the fresh berries and a drizzle of maple syrup.
