Servings4

Yields 4 servings

  • (1 pound) flank steak, thinly sliced against the grain
  • (4 cups) broccoli florets
  • (1/4 cups) soy sauce
  • (2 tablespoons) oyster sauce
  • (1 tablespoon) cornstarch
  • (1 tablespoon) vegetable oil
  • (3 cloves) garlic, minced
  • (1 teaspoon) fresh ginger, minced
  • (1/4 cups) beef broth
  • (1 tablespoon) sesame oil
  • (2) green onions, chopped
  • (1/4 teaspoons) black pepper
  • (1/4 teaspoons) red pepper flakes (optional)

Instructions

  1. 1

In a bowl, combine 1/4 cup soy sauce, 2 tablespoons oyster sauce, 1 tablespoon cornstarch, and 1/4 cup beef broth. Mix well and set aside. Add 1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional).

  2. 2

Heat 1 tablespoon vegetable oil in a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat.

  3. 3

Add the sliced flank steak to the skillet and season with 1/4 teaspoon black pepper. Stir-fry for about 3-4 minutes until browned and cooked through. Remove the beef from the skillet and set aside.

  4. 4

In the same skillet, add 3 cloves minced garlic and 1 teaspoon minced ginger. Stir-fry for about 30 seconds until fragrant.

  5. 5

Add 4 cups broccoli florets to the skillet and stir-fry for about 4-5 minutes until they are bright green and tender-crisp.

  6. 6

Return the cooked beef to the skillet and pour the sauce mixture over the beef and broccoli. Stir well to coat everything evenly.

  7. 7

Cook for an additional 2-3 minutes until the sauce thickens slightly and everything is heated through.

  8. 8

Drizzle with 1 tablespoon sesame oil and sprinkle with 2 chopped green onions. If desired, add 1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes for extra heat.

  9. 9

Serve hot over steamed rice or noodles.
