- (2 tbsp) butter
- (2 cloves) garlic, minced
- (1/2 tsp) black pepper
- (1/2 tsp) salt
- (1/4 tsp) paprika
Instructions
- 1
Preheat your oven to 375°F (190 °C).
- 2
In a large skillet, melt (2 tbsp) butter over medium heat. Add the (1) finely chopped onion and (2 cloves) minced garlic, and sauté until the onion is translucent, about 5 minutes.

Layer the remaining (4) sliced potatoes on top, followed by the rest of the onion and garlic mixture. Season with (1/2 tsp) salt, (1/2 tsp) black pepper, and (1/4 tsp) paprika.
- 5
Pour the (2 cups) heavy cream evenly over the layers in the baking dish. Top with the remaining (1 cup) cheddar cheese.
- 6
Cover the baking dish with aluminum foil and bake in the preheated oven for 30 minutes.
- 7
After 30 minutes, remove the foil and bake for an additional 20-25 minutes, or until the potatoes are tender and the cheese is bubbly and golden brown.
- 8
Let the dish cool for 5 minutes before serving.
