Yields 4 servings

  • (8 oz) penne pasta
  • (2 cups) broccoli florets
  • (2 cups) cooked chicken, shredded
  • (1 cup) shredded cheddar cheese
  • (1 cup) shredded mozzarella cheese
  • (2 cups) milk
  • (1/4 cups) all-purpose flour
  • (1/4 cups) butter
  • (1/2 teaspoons) garlic powder
  • (1/2 teaspoons) onion powder
  • (1/2 teaspoons) salt
  • (1/4 teaspoons) black pepper
  • (1/4 teaspoons) paprika
  • (1/2 cups) breadcrumbs

Instructions

  1. 1

    Preheat the oven to 350°F (175 °C).

  2. 2

Cook 8 oz penne pasta according to package instructions until al dente, then drain and set aside.

  3. 3

In a large pot, melt 1/4 cup butter over medium heat. Stir in 1/4 cup all-purpose flour and cook for 1 minute to form a roux.

  4. 4

Gradually whisk in 2 cups milk until smooth and thickened, about 5 minutes.

  5. 5

Add 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder, 1/2 teaspoon onion powder, 1/2 teaspoon salt, 1/4 teaspoon black pepper, and 1/4 teaspoon paprika to the sauce. Stir well.

  6. 6

Remove the pot from heat and mix in 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese and 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese until melted and smooth.

  7. 7

In a large mixing bowl, combine the cooked pasta, 2 cups broccoli florets, and 2 cups cooked chicken, shredded. Pour the cheese sauce over the mixture and stir to combine.

  8. 8

Transfer the mixture to a greased 9x13 inch baking dish, spreading it evenly.

  9. 9

Sprinkle 1/2 cup breadcrumbs over the top for a crunchy finish.

  10. 10

Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes, or until the top is golden and bubbly.

  11. 11

Let cool for a few minutes before serving.
